FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE ARTISTS AVIARY – APRIL 29 – MAY 29, 2021 AT ARCHIVAL GALLERY

Sacramento, April 1, 2021 – Archival Gallery will present The Artists Aviary, a small group exhibition, April 29 – May 29, 2021. This show features works by local artists Kim Scott, Maria Winkler, Kellie Raines, Richard Feese, and Maija Peeples-Bright.

Continuing our springtime theme in the gallery we have chosen a group of artists who are known for using avian themes in their work. The Sacramento region is home to more than 250 bird species that provide inspiration for fine art presented in painting and sculpture. This collection includes work by Maria Winkler that is featured in Sacramento’s Capitol Box Art project to add public artwork to city utility boxes.

Also showing in May, pastels by Terry Baxter on the Front Wall. Known for figurative works, Baxter has now begun to explore a more abstract approach to traditional landscapes.

The Gallery will be open for a Second Saturday reception with respectful distancing and limited capacity on May 8 from 5-7PM.

Gallery visitors are welcome during normal business hours with no appointment needed, and must wear a mask or face covering at all times.
