SPIRIT OF CALIFORNIA – MILES HERMANN MURAL AT ARCHIVAL GALLERY

Sacramento, CA: Archival Gallery will unveil a new mural by Miles Hermann, Spirit of California, on the gallery building at 3223 Folsom Boulevard in East Sacramento. The mural will be installed in late May 2020.

This new mural joins two other public art projects at Archival Gallery including STING by Robert Bowen (featured in Wide Open Walls 2019), and PROVIDENCE by Davy Fiveash.

From the Artist

This mural depicts the promise California has to offer. A place where countless people from around the globe have sought the potential for prosperity and reinvention. It is a land of vast riches from the Sierras to the sea. Spiritus Vita et Gestis – The spirit lives in the lives of the people. – Miles Hermann

From the Gallery Director

Archival Gallery is proud to add our third mural to the East Sacramento landscape. Miles Hermann’s mural celebrates the people and resolve of our great state of California and is the perfect visual marker of the reopening of our valley following the pandemic closures. This new mural is a gift to our city, celebrating our rich heritage as well as Sacramento, the Capitol of this great state. Murals are like tattoos – it’s hard to stop at one. – D. Oldham Neath
