FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A Rose is a Rose and Cathryn Rakich Ceramics – April 1-25, 2026

SACRAMENTO, March 1, 2026 – Archival Gallery will present “A Rose is a Rose” group art competition and “Bunnies and Birds” by Cathryn Rakich Ceramics April 1-25, 2026. The Gallery will hold a Second Saturday public reception and awards presentation on April 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“For the first time we held an open call art competition to celebrate the traditional representation of roses in visual arts. Fourteen local and regional artists were selected by juror Davy Fiveash, and sale proceeds from this collection support the nonprofit Sacramento Rose Society. We’re also thrilled that Cathryn Rakich has created unique ceramics to pair with the floral theme, and our friends from the Rose Society will have fresh flowers on display. The judge will present awards for Best of Show, First and Second Place at the Second Saturday reception on April 11. The public is invited to attend to enjoy refreshments, music, and to meet the participating artists.”

In addition to the main displays, the Gallery also includes a rotating selection of art gifts and estate sale items in the Backroom including new work by Gale Hart, Jack Alvarez, Richard Stein and more.
