Terry Baxter, Mel Ramos, and SAC Open Studios – September 2-26, 2026

SACRAMENTO, C.A. – August 1, 2026 – Archival Gallery will present Terry Baxter and a Mel Ramos legacy collection September 2-26, 2026, and an open studio with Erin Martinelli and Debra Kreck-Harnish for SAC Open Studios September 19-20, 2026. The Gallery will hold a Second Saturday public reception on September 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.

“Terry Baxter is back at the Gallery in September with a collection called Palimpsest,” said Heath Buckmaster of Archival Gallery. “These paintings and drawings are part of his abstract landscapes series using multiple layers of paint that are scraped away to reveal unique designs. We will also show sketches and limited editions by the late Mel Ramos, known for his pop culture pin-up beauties. These have been popular with collectors and we’ll add books and themed watches to this show. Along with our gallery collections, this month we celebrate SAC Open Studios. Guests can join us on September 12 for a First Dibs Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. with artists Erin Martinelli and Debra Kreck-Harnish. They will also have pop-up displays during Art Tour weekend of September 19-20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gallery. There’s a lot to see in September!”

The public is invited to visit the Gallery for a free public art reception on Second Saturday, September 12 starting at 5 p.m., with complimentary refreshments, live music by Cactus Pete, and an opportunity to meet the featured artists.
