About the Sacramento Rose Society
The Sacramento Rose Society was founded in June of 1940, and has continuously served as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 educational organization dedicated to the growing of healthy and beautiful roses of all types. We are an affiliate of the American Rose Society, sponsoring educational programs geared for gardeners growing roses on the west coast. Programs offer the latest information on new rose introductions, how to plant, care for, prune and grow roses for garden display, flower table cuttings and exhibition of blooms. Membership is open to anyone interested in learning about roses and their culture.
Sacramento Rose Society has been meeting at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center since the building first opened! It is located around the corner from the downtown Sacramento McKinley Rose Garden. Meetings begin at 7 pm on the second Thursday of each month, January through June and September through December.
